The Saint Katherine Protectorate spans 4350 square kilometers virtually the entire high mountain area of south Sinai.
The Protectorate was created by the Egyptian Government in 1996, and the European Union has provided financial assistance for its early management and development.
The Protectorate aims to conserve the natural and cultural features of this special area for the benefit of Egypt and the world.
Our project consisted of two main interactive components. The first was to perform photography and artwork for a set of 12 visually inciting and interactive drawer like posters; the second was to design and author a software program in four languages to be played in the visitor center’s touch screen monitors. We also performed nature photography while drawing on our extensive collection in conjunction with the rich collection of the protectorate. The exhibits introduce the natural and cultural heritage of the protectorate to visitors while promoting sound eco-tourism.
