Important Judaic religious sites in Sinai include Mount Sinai where God gave Moses the two “tables of stone”, with the Ten Commandments inscribed on them. The is also el-Raha Plain, described in Exodus as the place where the Israelites waited for Moses; Elijah's Chapel, where Elijah found refuge from Jezebel and the priests of Baal; the Stairway of Repentance leading to the Gate of Elijah, which is the traditional pilgrim path to the summit of Mount Sinai and Elijah’s basin. Gebel Musa is where tradition has it that that the angel appeared to Moses and where the Burning Bush stood.
